A place called home by Wanderlouve A place called home by Wanderlouve
Such freedom. This is the view of the place where some time ago was a village. Now it's all gone and you barely can find any remains. Nature took it all. Almost. ;) Bieszczady, November 2015

Ah no, not exactly, this villages in Bieszczady survived both wars, but after that, because of UIA actions en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainia… that leaded to Operation Vistula en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operatio… ... In Bieszczady there are plenty of villages that disappeared after this actions... You can find hidden remains when you are walking through the fields, like, for example, remainings of some house foundation, or a hole that used to be an entrance to the cellar... It's really weird to see this and think that NOT! so long ago it was a bustling place! Also in some of this villages you can find old cemeteries and churches, but also in a very poor condition.

Thank you so much for this background, I read the links you gave me and it is very interesting, and quite sad in some cases people were pulled from their villages. Thank you again!!! Hug
